Discerning the Answer to Prayer

I wonder at times if we miss the answer to our prayer because we failed to recognize it showing up. It didn’t come to us as we preconceived. When we pray for God to do something – more often than not a person shows up.

Israel needed delivered – Moses shows up ordained by God to do it.

·        Israel needed to cross the Jordon Joshua showed up.

·        Israel needs delivered from the Philistines Samson shows up.

·        Revival needed and Jehoshaphat shows up.

·        Salvation is needed and Jesus shows up.

·        Gentiles need the gospel and Paul shows up.

·        An Ethiopian man is crying out to know the meaning of Scripture and Philip shows up.

Oftentimes our answers to pray is carried by a person. The person is anointed and is carrying something that can be given to our lives. Moses carried the anointing to lead, instruct, and face Pharaoh. If they would have rejected him they would have rejected the answer God ordained and packaged for Israel. The Jewish people did that when they rejected Christ as God’s answer for their sins. The Bible says we must not be forgetful in entertaining angels because they have a purpose in their showing up. They carry an answer.

³⁸  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. 

The gifts of the Spirit operate through a person – if they are not present it is not released. God I need a word or an answer, he has someone who is anointed to carry and release it to you.

Cornelius prayed and Simon Peter became the carrier of the answer.

Acts 10:6 (KJV)
⁶  He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

The Ethiopian Eunuch desired to know the meaning of Scripture and Philip showed up carrying the answer.  

Acts 8:31 (KJV)
³¹  And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

If I need correction he will send a person into my life to provide it. However, it requires my discernment in recognizing the person as the answer. God can speak directly to you – spirit to spirit – but more often than not it is through another person he has ordained to carry it. My responsibility is to honor them and by doing so I unlock the blessing they brought to me. A blessing is an instrument of Divine favor that is able to prevent misfortune.

Thank God for blessing and the person they come through. Pray and then get ready – someone is coming your way!
