Degrees
of selfishness can be measured by what one will sacrifice to maintain
convenience in one’s life. I don’t believe there is any greater height that
selfishness reaches than when a person is willing to sacrifice another
human-being to preserve one’s convenience. On the other side of the age spectrum;
how many parents are discarded to the nursing home by children who base their
decision on the same principle as the mothers of these aborted children? The
statistics below become a barometer of where our society is concerning the
strength of this country’s moral fabric.
A 2004 study
by the Guttmacher
Institute reported that women listed
the following amongst their reasons for choosing to have an abortion:
74%
Having a baby would dramatically change my life
73% Can’t afford a baby now
48% Don’t want to
be a single mother or having relationship problems
38%
Have completed my childbearing
32%
Not ready for a(nother) child
25% Don’t want people to know I had sex or got
pregnant
22% Don’t feel mature enough to raise a(nother) child
14% Husband or partner wants me to have an abortion
13%
Possible problems affecting the health of the fetus
12%
Concerns about my health
6% Parents want me to have an abortion
1%
Was a victim of rape
less than 0.5% Became pregnant as a result of incest
3500 babies a day
are aborted in the United States every day. That’s around 1.2 million babies a
year. We are in need of another Great Awakening in the USA!!
Did you know that if I destroy a brown eagle or bald eagle's egg I could receive a $250,000 fine and/or up to 2 years in prison? Why is it that an egg is considered to have life in it and the human fetus is not? Just more things to think about on how strange our laws have become. As I stated before, laws produce a culture. It is coming to a place where we will worship the creatures more than the creator. Pagan societies of old would degenerate to such a position morally that they would kill their babies as acts of worship to an idol looking like an animal. They would destroy human life and make laws to protect animal life.
Reuben, that wouldn't happen here in the USA!! That is what many might say but the reality is that the proof is in the above mentioned laws. We can't argue with what is written on our books. It is legal to get an abortion (murder the human child) and it is illegal to destroy the egg of an animal.
It's time to pray and become vocal about preserving the sanctity of life!!
