It's amazing...

It's amazing how compassion flows out of people towards a beached whale while the killing of an unborn child barely elicits a whimper from the public.

It's amazing how prime-time sitcoms' border on being pornographic, inundated with sexual innuendos, and foul language is common but don't you dare put a nativity scene in the town square.

It's amazing that we can use human fetuses for medical research while becoming enraged at the evil laboratory for using mice.

It's amazing that the school system can teach homosexuality as an accepted lifestyle but don't you dare pray in the Name of Jesus at graduation.

It's amazing that to kill an unborn child takes a little paperwork and an appointment while to execute a mass murderer can take ten years or more.

It's amazing that we penalize success by higher taxation and then reward laziness with a handout.

It’s amazing how the person who cuts us off in traffic is worthy of retribution but when we do the same we expect people to understand we are human and make mistakes.

One more point: I miss the old comedies where the women were clothed and the men had character. Their lines were funny and no bedroom scenes. Now, you can't be funny unless you are a pervert, half naked, in the bedroom, and using foul language. My, how deteriorated, we have become.

The Human Will

The human will is an interesting study. The human will in a sense is sovereign because no one can force you to do anything. The Holy Spirit will not force you, but He will draw upon it, convince it, convict it, shine truth before it... Satan cannot force your will either, but he will try to weaken it by continual salvos and bombardment by painting sin as attractive and make the attempt to lure you into submission. As the will weakens, it will come to a place where it loses strength to resist, and when that happens the devil now owns your will. You might say, "a demon possessed person is being controlled against their will." The truth is, that didn't happen overnight. Little by little that person kept submitting to that spirit until the will of the person came into full agreement with the will of the demonic spirit. Demon possession then is when two wills have become one in unity. But praise be to God, when that person comes into contact with the truth and the blindness dissipates about their condition, they can cry out and the power of the risen Christ will set them free!!!

Another point: many today in the church claim they can't live right. My question then becomes "who is forcing them not to?"

No Reminder of my Former Life in Sin

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Here is the counterpart of that verse in the Old Testament.

Isaiah 65:17 (KJV) 17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

When God baptizes the earth in fire in the future, all things that would remind you of its former fallen state and condition will totally be removed. Thus, nothing will remain to remind any one of sin and its contaminates. I pondered on these references and as I was sitting at the office, the Lord brought the following sentrence to my mind.
"There should be nothing remaining in my life that would remind people of my former life in sin."

Compromise guarantees deception.

No one is ever deceived unless he has first entered into compromise. We were created with the ability to recognize right from wrong because the law of God is written on our hearts. But that capacity becomes crippled when we fail to uphold what we know to be true.
In the natural, we have an immune system that protects us from the many illnesses we are exposed to in our daily lives. When that immune system is weak, we become vulnerable to every germ and virus that comes along. Maintaining the standard of righteousness in the heart is essential to strengthening our spiritual immune system, which keeps us undefiled by the spirit of deception.
A heart that is clean will not desire evil. When evil is appealing, it is a warning sign that compromise is in operation, and that certain precautions must be taken. The roots of such compromises are usually found in the attitudes of the heart. That is why Solomon said, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." (Proverbs 4:23). When a root of compromise is exposed, repent. And repent deeply until there is a true change of heart and mind. It saves a lot of heartache in the long run.

Desires grow because of being fed.

Desires grow because they are fed. Therefore, desires that are big in our lives are there because we have fed them. Desires that are minimal in our lives are in their condition not by accident but because we have neglected them. If prayer is neglected then the desire for Christ will become minimal. This is why people who are truly so in love w/ Christ are a praying people... they are feeding it. Never say "I wish I had that kind of desire..." Do what that person does and you will have what they have.

Something to think about....

Think about this: Obama like Clinton never worked a job outside of politics in their lives. Then, they are placed into the responsibility of running the largest economy of the world. Like a college draft kid who has never worked is now offered a multimillion dollar contract... most of them end up broke after a few years away from the game.

Politicians - spoiled brats!

Politicians – spoiled brats!
If a mother or father gives a nonworking teenager a brand-new car, that son or daughter will not have learned the value of that car. Their treatment of that car will be accompanied with a non-caring attitude because their use of it never required an investment from themselves. Herein lies the problem with many of our career politicians. Many of them (not all but many) have never held a job or operated a business. Their attitude concerning your money is much like a spoiled child who receives everything but earns nothing. They do not value your tax dollars the same way you do because you have worked and earned it. Much of the problems we are currently facing in our economic debacle can be traced back to politicians who have made it their career. They make decisions based solely on reelection prospects and the promotion of selfish ambition. Put term limits on these characters and we would see a return to ethics and fiscal responsibility. When a person realizes how much hard work is put into growing a business and maintaining its operation, a person would be less inclined to burden small business once they are elected. Taking money by taxation out of the private sector and increasing government does not stimulate growth in the private sector. It’s really a no-brainer but you and me… we are not in Washington!

More Government?

For those who want more government, here is something to think about. When government creates government jobs, we must remember they are not jobs that create or generate money. Every time the government creates another government agency it must have an equitable response in the private sector.

Let me explain. Since government jobs are solely dependent upon jobs in the private sector for income as a result of taxation, then every time government creates a job within itself then there must be a creation of multiple jobs in the private sector to support it. Herein lies the problem. When government is creating jobs within itself outpacing the growth of employment in the private sector, you then have the inevitable of raising taxes on everyone. Government then becomes larger and the people become financially oppressed, economic growth comes to a standstill, government portrays itself as the answer when in fact they are the problem. Kind of seems like a 'no brainer' doesn't it? Of course, you and me, we are not in Washington!

The Government creates jobs??

I didn’t realize that the government’s role was to create jobs. I thought that was the private sector’s responsibility. It’s interesting that government is the one who has stifled job growth by it’s over burdening in taxation and regulations and now wants to come in and save the day by creating jobs. This is an amazing concept. I create a problem, and then I create the solution. What’s more amazing is, the solution is more taxation and regulation and somehow what has created the crisis will miraculously become the solution. I thought about this and came up with an illustration. I tell my son “I expect ten bushels of beans out of this garden, but you can’t plant within twenty feet of the stream, ten feet of the fence, and ten feet of the yard.” My son says, “dad, I can’t get ten bushels of beans if you expect all of these regulations to be obeyed.” I reply “that’s ok son, I have the solution, don’t plant within thirty feet of the stream, fifteen feet of the fence, and twenty feet of the yard.” My son looks at me dumbfounded and leaves scratching his head at this load of wisdom. I must admit, I feel like my son in this story when it comes to our federal government. Referring to the eighties, some people called it the decade of greed; I called it capitalism at its finest. Government downsized, deregulation happened, tax cuts took effect, and a funny thing happened – business prospered and jobs were created by the private sector. How, you may ask. Government got out of the way! Ronald Reagan said it best “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.”
