Electrify Faith Electrocute Fear

When you electrify a conductor of electricity you enhance its function to operate and impact as it was designed. Electrocuting something is the result of overwhelming it to the point you destroy its ability to function instead of enhancing it.

Fear paralyzes my ability to experience joy. It wounds potential and postpones opportunities. It disables my connection to the source of love, power, and a disciplined mind. Fear has the uncanny power to hollow out a life and set it adrift on the seas of life.

This is why fear, intimidation, and all of its cohorts cannot be tolerated in the life. It is not an alternative lifestyle because in reality it’s no life at all. Now we can appreciate a little more the following verse.

John 10:10 (KJV)
10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Much of what Satan does in destroying a life is not so much the physical but rather the inward condition. His providing of adverse or unholy things in plain view of our sight, is there for the purpose to cause a response that is out of order with God. Reactions such as worry, fear, and unbelief are the harvest he is looking to reap for his investment.

However, if I am building my life on the principles of God’s holy word then the Spirit gives an innate ability to filter all things seen through the prism of his statutes. The principles subdue the adversity and all that is foreign to the kingdom of our Lord to the throne of our God. We in essence become bystanders to this phenomenon and observe the superiority of God’s principles in comparison to all of the enemy’s weapons of destruction.

Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV)
24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Every time I do what God says, I electrify my faith while simultaneously electrocuting my fear. Light always overwhelms darkness.

Interject life in place of the word house. “House” is the life you’ve built. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that building your house on the rock that there will be no flood. Rains and floods hit everyone. But only one group is standing when the water recedes. God says “if you will listen to me and do what I say and let me govern you, when life hits you with everything it has – what you built won’t crumble." Remain in obedience while the flood rages against you and watch the intended affects orchestrated by Satan be electrocuted from damaging your soul.

When something comes into your life which is less than pleasant now you can count it all joy because you know it WILL work out for your benefit. You may not get a Porsche out of it but you will develop spiritual muscle through it and be able to remain standing till the end.

Matthew 10:22 (KJV)
22  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Why will you make it to the end? Because you are trusting in something that is everlasting – eternal! The Word of God!

John 6:27 (KJV)
27  Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Let God have it today. He will remove all fear and you will once again experience joy. The scheduling of opportunities for God to show his greatness will resume once again.

Leadership and It's Investment

Having proper strategy is paramount in producing real and lasting change. Whether it’s an environment, nation, or a culture, there must be implementation that comes forth from a blueprint that channels us towards the expected end.

We can be more in love with the idea of changing the world than of actually changing it. A philosophy or theology of world change without a strategy for doing so does not produce the work of the Kingdom. The first step in bringing the vision to fruition is what you invest in.

The quality, longevity, and impact of a leader’s legacy is determined by what he/she invests in. Saddam Hussein invested in buildings, statues, and himself, and his legacy is being erased every-time a building is destroyed with his name on it. Nelson Mandela invested in people instead of himself and he still lives on through the next generation. A visionary must invest by reproducing what’s in them into others to carry the mission. This requires the absence of insecurity and losing control phenomenon in the leader. Expansion happens when leadership defines concisely the mission and expected end and then invests in the qualified for exceeding themselves generationally.

Jesus invested in people, specifically in twelve. The Caesars invested in buildings with their names inscribed on them and invested in themselves in extreme indulgence. 2000 years later people still name their children Jesus, Peter, and James, while they name their dogs Caesar and Nero. Christianity boasts of two billion followers while Rome no longer exists. The difference? One invested in people while the others invested in material things and themselves.

Leadership should concentrate on developing people instead of managing them. Managing maintains status quo but developing them creates a better future filled with greater opportunities and lasting achievement.

Leadership must think generational – vision always outlasts the person. Leaving a legacy is not my name on a building but leaving my experience deposited in someone for the next generation to build upon. Buildings can collapse overnight and has no ability to produce another building. However, a generation can produce another generation with your vision at their core and your impact lives on. When we as leaders leave this world, the greatest memory should not be the eulogy spoken at our funeral or the epitaph inscribed on our tombstone. Rather, it should be the lives that continue to speak and produce what we started.

Jack Welch said “Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.” Leadership must always remember that people and not position, power, and agenda, are what is more important.
