A Return to God's Message

Put this on Facebook and thought I would share this wisdom espoused by one of the late generals of the faith.

"What is a doctrine of devils? How do I know when I am hearing the doctrine of a devil? Most doctrines of the devil come out of the mouths of the false prophets who use chapters and verses of the Bible and portions of the written word taken out of context. Doctrines of devils are those which exalt the flesh without moving me in holiness toward God. A doctrine of the devil is any doctrine that excites the flesh, but whose end result does not move me towards holiness, love, dedication, sacrifice, and passion toward the Holy God." – B.H. Clendennen

Too many ministries have perverted the text into feeding the flesh on self promotion instead of taking the spiritual hide to the cross and hanging the dirty dead thing where it belongs. However, the stinking flesh is being perfumed and paraded under the banner of Christendom today. I can only imagine how close to puking God is!!

Consider a pig. You can dress it up, put perfume on it, lipstick on the snout, and it’s still a pig. I can take it out of the barnyard and put into an enclosed pasture beside it, and it will stand at the fence wishing it was still in the mud. However, if we replace the nature of the pig with the nature of a lion! He may still look like a pig but he won’t stand at the fence looking and longing to be back in the mud. Lions hate water and mud and love the open plains of the Serengeti. People will say “you can take the boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the boy.” The point being, when the nature changes, the entire lifestyle changes!

  1. Little Pig With a New Heart

Mary had a little pig and it was white as snow,
That is when it had had a bath, as you of course might know.
But Mary had an awful time to keep the piggy clean,
For it was just the dirtiest pig that one has ever seen.

She’d wash him and she’d scrub him, till he would squirm and squeal,
As if he wanted her to know it was an unfair deal.
And then inside his green backyard he’d plan from morn to night,
Unless he happened to sneak out and lose himself from sight.

And then when Mary found him he’d be blacker than ere before,
So Mary’d get the soap again and scrub the pig some more.
Poor Mary thought and wondered much what she could ever do
Until she figured out a plan, and this she carried through.

She took him to a doctor who put the pig to sleep, and then he
Took his heart right out, but not of course to keep.
And then he took a little lamb and took his heart out too
And put it in the little pig before the piggy knew.

When little piggy did awake he had no more desire
To wallow in the mud again or ever in the mire.
And try as hard as ere he could he never understood,
How such a pig as once he was could ever be so good.

And so you see, dear friends of mine, you need a new heart too,
Just like the little piggy did, the old will never do.
If you’ll receive a brand new heart, well, here is how you may.
Accept God’s son as savior now and let him in today.
